LEARN THE SCIENCE

Rapid stART is recommended by Health and Human Services guidelines. Patients who have engaged in care via the Rapid stART protocol have achieved viral suppression in as little as 21 days. Viral suppression can reduce the number of new HIV diagnoses.

When a patient’s viral load is undetectable, their HIV is untransmittable—the amount of HIV in their body is so low they can’t pass HIV to their sexual partners. This scientifically-proven concept is known as Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U).

I used to spend a lot of time helping newly-diagnosed people begin medical treatment. Now, the Rapid stART Response Team does this work, and keeps me updated on the patient’s status. This allows me to spend more time providing the patient with the support and resources they need to live healthy and well.
